Zimbabwe has banned the sales and distribution of alcohol as cases of Covid-19 are on the rise.

The development was announced by Journalist Hopewell Chin’ono this afternoon as may retail outlets are displaying a ‘Not For Sale’ notice of beer fridges.

“It is confirmed that alcohol sales have been suspended. It is going to hurt the industry, the workers in alcohol outlets & more importantly, the government itself through reduction of taxes. Has a study been done about the correlation between alcohol consumption &infection rates?” Chin’ono posted on Twitter.
